Speaking Up For Us Self-Advocates wrote a letter to Representative Pingree to thank her for signing on to H.R. 1529. This is to ‘amend title XVI of the Social Security Act to provide that the supplemental security income benefits of adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities shall not be reduced by reason of marriage.’
This has been a topic that Self-Advocates have become passionate about and have been speaking up about.
