Recently Kile was able to speak with Deb Wiggins about what she wants for her future. Deb shared the following:
Debra Wiggins is a Self-Advocate, a member of SUFU, and lives in Presque Isle, Maine.
Deb has been under guardianship since she was 18 years old and has decided to take the steps to be her own guardian. Deb will be taking a good look at Supported Decision-Making, A User’s Guide for People with Disabilities and Their Supporters, offered by (DRM) Disability Rights Maine. The guide is free and can be accessed at www.supportmydecision.org Deb wants to get married when she becomes her own guardian and will keep us posted as she goes through the steps to complete the guardianship process.
