Some of our Self-Advocates recently participated in a Career Exploration Workshop series by Voc Rehab. The purpose of this was for them to some training, and to provide feedback to Voc Rehab on the material. We have asked our self-advocates to share their experience with you over the next several weeks on our blog.
First is Stephanie Pelletier from Fort Kent. Stephanie is a member of the Presque Isle chapter and is the secretary on the board of directors. Here is what she had to say about the training:
“I liked that how we learned to look up different jobs that we would like and the learning experience from the workshop.
We learned how to fill out applications and interviewing.
I feel more confident in looking for a job in the future. If this workshop were offered again, I would recommend people take. The people who did this workshop talked with us about how to find a job and what we wanted in our lives.”
