Hi Everybody,
I’ve got 2 topics for you today…
1st, I wanted to let you know about Jon’s blog about the upcoming SUFU Conference in Bangor, September 8 & 9:
There’s still time to register for the conference & we’d love to see you there! 🙂
2nd, I wanted to tell you a funny story about my cat, Max. 🙂
I got Max when he was two months old and he’s 13 now. He’s a Maine Coon cat which basically means that he might look like a cat but he’s so big that secretly, I think he might be a horse. He’s great company and I love him very much but I also know that Max is the Boss.
I might be the human but Max is allowing me to live here as long as I feed him. I understand our relationship and I’m ok with it. However, sometimes I think that Max believes that I need to be reminded that he’s the boss.
Max hates loud noises. If he hears thunder he’ll hide under the bed. When I sneeze? He gets mad because I think that he thinks I’m doing it on purpose.
So, I’m watching tv with Max, and I have allergies, so I sneeze. I made Max jump and then he gave me a look like, “Why did you do that?” He started meowing like crazy, like he was arguing with me. Apparently not satisfied that I was getting the message, he decided to nip my arm (gently), with his teeth.
I pushed him off the bed, he jumped back up and nipped my arm again, I pushed him off the bed and he nipped me again. I guess after that, he felt like I got the message because he left with his head up in the air.
A few seconds later, I heard a crash. Apparently there was a bird or something near the window that Max wanted to look at, and the fact that there was a bunch of plants in his way? Didn’t seem to bother him. Long story short, I had quite a mess on my floor that I had to clean up today.
Max went to hide after he knocked the plant over because he thought I’d be mad at him. When I found him, he had this look on his face like, “Ok, I forgive you for the sneeze,” which made me laugh.
Some people say that a dog is man’s best friend but I think cats are pretty special too.
Until next time,
Avery
