My Dream Job
By Teresa Carmichael
Today I work at SKILLS in Pittsfield putting zip ties in a cutter so they can go to a person to bag them; then the strips are shipped. Today that’s what I do, but I dream of being a receptionist someday.
I like the idea of answering the phone, typing, filing and helping people. I am planning on taking a class to learn how to use a computer to help me get the kind of job I want. In the mean time I plan to meet people and talk with friends so I can hear about people who may be able to hire me. It’s networking to help me find a job. I would like to get a job in St. Albans if SUFU starts an office there.
In my dream office, Susie and I are co-workers. I have my own coffee machine, printer and a big desk. When the phone rings I answer it.
Because I live so near to my dream job I can walk to work and carry my lunch and my new brief case. Susie and I can go out to lunch at the Chinese restaurant. Chinese is my favorite.
I want to use some of my earnings for clothes, shoes, and going out to eat.
