Officers of Speaking Up For Us Board of Directors
Kile Pelletier, Chair, Eagle Lake
Hi, my name is Kile Pelletier; I was born in Fort Kent, Maine. I am a member of the Developmental Disabilities Council and am taking part in the Leadership institute. I like to help other people do things in their lives that will make them happy. I will work hard for SUFU as an officer and tell people about SUFU and self advocacy.
Laura Antranigian, Co-chair, Portland
I am Laura Antranigian from Portland, a former SUFU board member for four years. My past board experience includes serving as the secretary for one year, and the chair for two years. I am also a council member for the Developmental Disabilities Council. I am happy to be back on the board and serving as the Co-chair, and to be working for SUFU and helping my fellow officers.
Jane Anderson, Secretary, So. Portland
I have been making changes in my life by speaking up for myself; I am a member of the Portland area local group. I have testified at the state house on issues that are important to people with
disabilities. I went to Washington DC to share information and learn more about how people can be included in heir community. I am going to work to encourage self advocates to attend state and local group meetings. I am looking forward to learning to do the work as the secretary of the SUFU board of directors.
Maryann Preble, Treasurer, Augusta
I am the outgoing co-chair, and former chair person, of the Speaking Up For Us board. I go to my local group in Augusta, and I am on the Community Advisory Committee at the Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies.
The Community Advisory Committee is made of people who are interested in disability issues. We give information to the Executive Director of CCIDS, and advise the Center of the projects we think it is important for them to work on. I live in an apartment and volunteer at a local long term care home.
I am looking forward to working with the budget committee to make sure SUFU's monies are being spent properly.
