I DIDN’T GIVE UP

Errol dressed in his tux

Hi Everyone,

I rented a tux for the SUFU 10th Anniversary Conference 2 years ago. I paid for it with my own money. I was nominated for the Self Advocate of The Year Award and I was told I would be reimbursed for the tux rental, except 10 dollars, because the company said they would donate the cost of the tux rental to contestants. Strickly Formal of Augusta was a chain store and they had a branch in Waterville for me to rent a tux from. Shortly after I returned the tux they got a new owner. They told me that I would get all my money back except $10.00 (cleaning cost). It got very complicated.

Large Tux iconWell, for the past two years I have been working with my staff and SUFU and supporters to get my money back. I didn’t let it go until I got my money back. It took me a over year but I got my money back 2 months ago!

Finally, after all this hard work! I got my check for $40.00. I spent the money on a brand new recliner. (I had other money to go with it.)

I went to the State Wide meeting February 17th and shared good news!
