Objective 1: SUFU will offer at least one advisor training for local advisors throughout the state by June 30, 2011.
Objective 2: SUFU will help at least 10 local groups to develop leadership skills, and to learn how to run meetings.
Objective 3: SUFU will help local groups to make regional connections, by offering a SUFU Facebook page, email connections through the SUFU website, and the use of video conferencing.
Objective 1: SUFU will provide at least six trainings on topics such as disability awareness, civil rights, leadership and others.
Objective 2: SUFU will host three statewide meetings on topics of interest to self- advocates.
Objective 3: SUFU will host at least six conferences and or regional meetings for self-advocates to network with each other, attend trainings and take part in other self- advocacy activities.
Objective 4: SUFU will offer two trainings on sexuality and relationships.
Objective 1: SUFU will develop board policies for its members.
Objective 2: SUFU will form a committee to change the voting process so that all SUFU members can vote for their regional representatives.
Objective 3: SUFU will support at least three self-advocates to attend the annual Grassroots Organizing Weekend (G.R.O.W.).
Objective 4: SUFU will provide a one day training to the Board of Directors about their obligations to SUFU and the people they represent.
Objective1: SUFU will provide support for its members to serve on councils, boards and committees.
Objective 2: SUFU members from all regions will meet at least six times with DHHS representatives to exchange information.
Objective 3: SUFU will work with NEAT(North East Advocates Together), SABE (Self-Advocates Becoming Empowered) and other allies on local and national issues important to self-advocates.
Objective 4: SUFU will meet at least four times with specialists in the field of employment to work on employment issues for people with disabilities.
Objective 5: SUFU will meet at least four times with service providers and their organizations to work on important legislative and advocacy issues.
Objective 6: SUFU will help with a project led by the Disability Rights Center to create an accessible rights booklet.
Objective 1: SUFU will let legislators know how budget cuts affect people with disabilities. It’s members will testify at least four times at legislative hearings, attend rallies and write letters to legislators,
Objective 2: SUFU will help 40 members to attend Disability Advocacy Day and 10 members to attend Disability Awareness Day.
Objective 3: SUFU will work with members to participate in at least six meetings with legislators in their home districts.
Objective 1: SUFU will share information about self-advocacy with its allies, legislators and others at least 10 times.
Objective 2: SUFU will share the value of self-advocacy with high-school students at least 3 times.
