Objective 1: SUFU will testify, write letters, and attend rallies on 5 topics that affect people with developmental disabilities.
Objective 2: SUFU will help 35 members to attend legislative Advocacy Day and Disability Awareness Day.
Objective 3: SUFU members will have a seat at the table on at least 10 committees working on issues such as housing, legislation, transportation, employment, and others.
Objective 1: SUFU will host three statewide meetings to educate self-advocates and self-advocacy supporters on topics such as voting, relationships, and guardianship.
Objective 2: SUFU will help at least 4 local groups to get more support from agencies and communities.
Objective 3: SUFU will meet with allies, such as DRC, MDDC, DHHS, CCIDS, and Muskie to share information, at least once during the year.
Objective 4: SUFU will hold one statewide conference to connect and share information with at least 200 people.
Objective 5: SUFU will send self-advocates to meet with NEAT, SABE region 8 at least once a year.
Objective 1: SUFU will train staff in all 6 regions on how to support self-advocacy.
Objective 2: SUFU will support at least 10 people to tell their stories.
Objective 3: SUFU will train at least 50 self-advocates on preventing exploitation, self esteem, leadership and other topics.
